About Conference

The International Conference and Exhibition on Solid State Devices and Materials  is one of the most reputable global meetings regarding science and technology in devices and materials research. It is organized by OLC International and is scheduled to be held in Vancouver, Canada from September 10-11, 2020.

OLCSSDM-2020 continues as a tradition and a multidisciplinary forum for the exchange of research results, ideas and industry experience in the broad areas of solid state devices and materials. The conference program includes invited talks by eminent scientists, keynote lectures, plenary sessions, exhibits, workshops and discussions encompassing different aspects of solid-state circuits and systems. It covers a wide spectrum of topics related to solid state devices and materials and facilitates active discussion among various communities.

The purpose of this conference is to bring together scientists, researchers, students, policy makers, academia members, industry leaders and engineers working on solid-state devices and materials to discuss current progress in their respective fields. Through deep discussions and workshops and other technical and social events, the conference promotes science and industry related research to discuss the role of solid-state electronics in different segments. Covering a broad area of research and development in devices and materials, the event covers diverse processing technologies and features several plenary talks, invited papers, contributed oral papers and video and poster presentations.

Key researchers will actively participate in the conference proceedings providing insightful information relevant to research and development efforts that are highly solicited from both industry and academia. The meeting will cover a wide range of topics including material fundamentals, high-speed devices and materials, battery-related technologies, and bio-electronics among others. Vancouver's climate is temperate by Canadian standards and is classified as the oceanic or marine west coast, which under the Köppen climate classification system is classified as Cfb that borders on a warm summer Mediterranean Climate Csb. While during summer months the inland temperatures are significantly higher, Vancouver has the coolest summer average high of all major Canadian metropolitan areas. The summer months are typically dry, with an average of only one in five days during July and August receiving precipitation. In contrast, there is some precipitation for nearly half the days from November through March.

The best time to visit Vancouver is during the warmer and drier months of April through October. September and October are often the best times to visit, with their long, warm days, smaller crowds, and rarely a spot of rain. The weather has cooled down but is still comfortable, the summer crowds have left, prices drop, and changing fall foliage provides a beautiful backdrop for a vacation. November sees the start of the rainy season, which continues through to March.
